We’re back! And this time, it’s going to be a little different…
For Shitbox Rally Winter 2027, I’m teaming up with my good friend Janice from Perth. Those that used to follow our previous rallies, would know Janice as being my helper-driver to get the legendary Suzuki Swift over to Perth for our Perth to Darwin rally in 2025. She also recently came down to Mildura to send us off on our Winter 2026 rally Mildura to Townsville. So, it is about time she is participated fully in a rally and together we’re taking on one seriously crazy adventure — driving our $1,500 Shitbox (VW Transporter- newly re-named Van-Helsing) from Cairns to Darwin over seven days, through Hell’s Gate Roadhouse and Jabiru!
Two friends from opposite sides of the country, one temperamental Shitbox VW Van, thousands of kilometres of outback roads, and absolutely no guarantee that our Shitbox will make it to the finish line… 😂
But as much as we’re looking forward to the adventure, the laughs, the breakdowns and whatever else the road throws at us, there’s a much bigger reason we’re doing this.
We’re doing it for Cancer Council. 💛
Every Shitbox Rally team is required to raise at least $5,000, but this year Janice and I are setting ourselves a much bigger challenge — our goal is $10,000!
Cancer has touched the lives of so many people we know and love. We’ve seen the strength, courage and resilience of people going through it, and the relief and hope that comes with remission. So, this year, we’re putting our kilometres, our questionable mechanical skills and our love of a good adventure towards something that really matters.
Every dollar we raise goes directly to Cancer Council, helping fund vital cancer research and support services.
So, if you’ve ever wanted to help two slightly questionable women drive an even more questionable car across the Australian outback… this is your chance! 😂

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
