🚗💨 WE’RE DOING SOMETHING SLIGHTLY UNHINGED FOR A VERY GOOD CAUSE! 🏁❤️
We’re ridiculously excited (and possibly questioning our life choices) to announce that we’re taking part in Shitbox Rally 2027 – Winter! 🎉
That’s right… we’ll be jumping into a $1,500-or-less shitbox and attempting to drive it from Cairns to Darwin over 7 days. Because apparently a reliable car, a relaxing holiday and good decision-making weren’t options. 😂
But there’s a serious reason behind the madness.
Every team has to raise a minimum of $5,000, with every dollar going directly to Cancer Council to help fund vital cancer research. 🎗️
And this one is incredibly personal for us.
We’re doing this in memory of our grandmother, uncle, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle-in-law, and adopted mum & dad — all people we’ve sadly lost to cancer.
We’re also doing it to celebrate my brother, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who kicked cancer’s arse and beat it! 💪❤️
So while we’ll be driving across the country in a car that probably has more rust than horsepower, we’re hoping to raise some serious money along the way. 😂
Whether you donate $5, $50 or $500, every dollar counts and every bit of support gets us closer to our goal and helps Cancer Council continue the fight.
So please dig deep, share our page, tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell that random bloke at the pub… basically tell everyone! 🍻😂
Help us turn one questionable $1,500 car into $5,000+ worth of hope. 🎗️🚗
We’ll provide the laughs, questionable mechanical decisions and hopefully make it to Darwin in one piece.
Let’s do this! ❤️
Tbfrcr are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
