Last year was so much fun we're doing it again! The peugeot survived and our trusty mechanic Linton is going to help us fix the dings so she's right to go in winter 2027. This time it's across the top from Cairns to Darwin on dirt roads which will be epic. We met some wonderful people last year and raised just over $8000 for the Cancer Council which we're hoping to beat this year. We all know cancer is shit, and for those who don't know us we've had more than our fair share. In 2020 I was diagnosed with a very rare but widespread appendix cancer and am missing quite a few not-strictly-essential abdominal organs as a result, and my wonderful Mum passed away in 2025 from ovarian cancer.

Why "Slice of Brian"? Last year we were "Smelly Bears" which has a family backstory. But on the rally last year we asked - if you were in a plane crash in the Andes would you eat your partner? And we all decided we would eat Brian. He leaned in to it and this year we have great plans for our shitbox decorations. Brian will (probably) remain in once piece.

Every participating team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000. Every dollar raised goes directly to Cancer Council and helps fund vital cancer research, which is why we’re doing everything we can to hit our goal. Your support, whether big or small, will have a real impact.
CAIRNS DARWIN 3,400 km in a $1,500 car SLICE OF BRIAN

Slice of Brian are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
