Father and son team, Brad and Shane are hitting up the Winter Shitbox Rally 2027!
Travelling from Cairns to Darwin in a 2005 2WD Hilux, we are keen to make some memories, have some fun and raise funds for cancer research along the way.
Our family has been greatly impacted by the vicious disease, cancer. Brad and Shane lost their mother/grandmother to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2025. Brad sadly lost his partner, Jane in early 2026 after fighting terminal colon cancer, she was only 59. Not only did Brad lose his partner, he underwent treatment for his own diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at the same time.
Jane and Brad had a dream to participate in a Shitbox – but sadly her prognosis made her unable to participate. Shane has stepped in, as the impact of cancer has greatly impacted our family.
Winter Shitbox will hopefully be the 1st of many for O’Neils Wheels adventures. Any donation, big or small goes directly to Cancer Council to create better futures for people affected by cancer.

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
