We’re thrilled to announce that we’re taking part in Shitbox Rally 2027 – Winter!

We’ll be hitting the road in our $1,500-or-less Shitbox, driving from Cairns to Darwin over seven unforgettable days. It’s going to be one hell of an adventure, but more importantly, it’s about making a real difference in the fight against cancer.

Every team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000, with funds raised going to Cancer Council to support vital cancer research. We’ll be doing everything we can to smash that target, and any support—big or small—will mean a lot to us.

Most of you would know that Dad, my partner in crime for this rally, has had his own battle with cancer over the past few years. Thankfully, he’s one of the lucky ones. But we’ve also watched countless friends and family members face their own battles with cancer over the years, and sadly, not all of them have been as fortunate.

Dad and I have had countless adventures together over the years, but with work, family and life getting crazier with every year that passes, it’s been far too long between adventures. So this one is going to be pretty special.

We also want this rally to be about more than just the two of us and our own family’s experience.

We want to take your loved ones along for the ride too.

With every donation, you’ll have the opportunity to nominate a family member or friend who has been affected by cancer. We’ll create a key-shaped sticker with their name on it and place it on our $1,500 Shitbox "Keyed Up".

By the time we roll into Darwin, we hope the car will be covered in keys—each one representing someone who has fought, is still fighting, or is remembered by the people who love them.

So if you’re able to donate, nominate someone special to you and help us fill our Shitbox with names worth driving for.

Cairns to Darwin. Seven days. One very questionable car. And hopefully a whole lot of keys coming along for the ride.

Keyed Up are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
