Hi, we’re James and Jack — two best mates from Ireland who met in Canada, travelled the world together, and somehow ended up living in Australia.

We’ve always loved watching the Top Gear specials and dreaming about one day taking on our own ridiculous adventure in a car of some sort. So, when we applied for the Shitbox Rally, we honestly never expected to actually get in! Now that it’s real, we couldn’t be more excited to take on Shitbox Rally 2027 and see where this crazy adventure takes us. We’re looking forward to the laughs, the challenges, the questionable car decisions and, hopefully, making it to the finish line in one piece!

Most importantly, we’re incredibly proud to be doing it for such a great cause. Too many people and families have been affected by cancer, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to do our bit to help raise funds and awareness.Every donation, no matter how big or small, means a lot to us and helps make this adventure worthwhile.

Thanks for supporting us, and we hope you enjoy following James and Jack’s great Australian shitbox adventure!

CAIRNS DARWIN 3,400 km in a $1,500 car JACK AND JAMES

Jack and James are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
