Meet the team: Despicable Us - Driven by Liam and Jeremy

We’re a bunch of questionable drivers with an even more questionable car, taking on the Shitbox Rally in a machine that probably should’ve been retired years ago.

Our mission is simple: drive a shitbox under $1,500 from Cairns to Darwin, try not to break down, and raise as much money for as we can for a bloody good cause, Cancer Council Australia.

Will the car survive? Probably not.

Will we get lost? Almost definitely.

Will we make questionable mechanical decisions along the way? Absolutely. But with a bit of luck, a lot of duct tape, cable ties, and the support of our amazing crew, we’re going to send it all the way to the finish line.

Follow along for breakdowns, bogs, bad decisions and hopefully a finish-line photo! Let’s get this shitbox moving! 🏁

We would greatly appreciate any donation towards this great cause and to get us to Darwin.

Many Thanks,

Liam and Jeremy

CAIRNS DARWIN 3,400 km in a $1,500 car DESPICABLE US

Despicable Us are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
