3,400km, Two Mates, One Magnificent $1,500 Bucket of Rust.

In Winter 2027, we’re taking on the Shitbox Rally, driving 3,400km from Cairns to Darwin across some of Australia's toughest terrain. The catch? Our car is worth no more than $1,500, so expect us to have squeaky fan belt that sounds like a dying bird and no functioning air conditioning, and has a very high probability of breaking down in the middle of no where

Why are we doing this? Beyond testing our mechanical survival skills (and our friendship), we are doing this for something much bigger. Cancer affects almost every Australian family. We’ve committed to raising a minimum of $7,500 for Cancer Council to support vital life-saving research, prevention, and support services. Every single dollar you donate goes straight to Cancer Council to help beat cancer.

How you can help. Whether it’s $5 (the cost of a coffee) or $500, every donation keeps our wheels turning and gets us one step closer to Darwin. Hit the Donate button, drop a message of support, and follow along as we attempt to make it to the finish line in one piece!

CAIRNS DARWIN 3,400 km in a $1,500 car CRAFTY BREWS

Crafty Brews are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
