I'm part of a family which has been touched by cancer and know personally of the need for more research and improved treatment, having lost my brother to bowel cancer and from being a survivor of prostate cancer.I also have strong connections to the path of the Winter rally from Cairns to Darwin as both my children were born in Darwin and my daughter now lives in Cairns and my son is co-driver for this event.
As a long term participant in motor sport, particularly rallies, this event is an ideal way for me and my family to bring these passions together to make a real difference in the fight against cancer and to have some fun along the way.

Every participating team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000. Every dollar raised goes directly to Cancer Council and helps fund vital cancer research, which is why we’re doing everything we can to hit our goal. Your support, whether big or small, will have a real impact.
CAIRNS DARWIN 3,400 km in a $1,500 car CHOOKY DANCERS

Chooky Dancers are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
