For us, this rally has never been just about driving an old car. It’s about doing something meaningful for the countless families whose lives have been touched by cancer.
Like so many Australians, cancer has touched our family in more ways than one. We’ve celebrated victories, stood beside loved ones through treatment, and experienced the heartbreak of saying goodbye. Those experiences are what keep us coming back.
Every team taking part in Shitbox Rally is required to raise a minimum of $5,000, with every single dollar going directly to Cancer Council to fund world-class cancer research. But for us, the minimum is just the starting point. Through community events, raffles, auctions, sponsorships and plenty of laughs along the way, we’re determined to raise as much as we possibly can.
None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our family, friends, local businesses and wider community. Every donation, every raffle ticket purchased, every event attended and every word of encouragement helps bring us one step closer to a future where fewer families have to hear the words, “You’ve got cancer.”

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
