## Shitbox Rally Winter 2027
### From tactical operations to questionable automotive operations!
We're Rob and Dan McDougall, and we're back for another crack at the Shitbox Rally Winter Edition in 2027!
Last time, we tackled the Australian outback as Team 3D Mildura. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we raised over **$7,100 for Cancer Council**, smashing our $5,000 fundraising target.
This year, we're stepping things up. New rally, new team name, and a slightly different kind of tactical vehicle.
**Introducing TEAM BEER CAT!**
After spending 22 years in the NSW Police, including 10 years as a tactical operator, Rob knows a thing or two about the BearCat – the heavily armoured vehicle used by police tactical teams.
Unfortunately, our budget doesn't quite stretch to an armoured vehicle, so we've gone with the next best thing: a bargain-basement Shitbox, a questionable paint job and a team name that pays tribute to Rob's former career.
The result? The **BEER CAT** – all the attitude of a tactical response vehicle, with absolutely none of the armour, horsepower or reliability!
Our mission is simple: survive thousands of kilometres of Australia's toughest roads, have a few laughs along the way, and most importantly, raise much-needed funds for Cancer Council.

Beer Cat are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
