Ladies and gentlemen, friends, family, and generous strangers who may have accidentally clicked the donation link…
Fluff (Shaun) and I have wanted to do this rally for quite some time, and after what feels like years of asking, begging, and probably annoying the organisers, we have finally been accepted!
Which means two things:
Firstly, we’re going rallying.
Secondly, someone has clearly made a terrible decision.
We’re incredibly excited to take on this adventure, meet some amazing people, see some places we probably wouldn’t normally visit, and hopefully return home with the same number of functioning body parts and a vehicle that vaguely resembles the one we started with.
But while the rally itself will be about having a laugh, getting lost, making questionable decisions and hopefully avoiding anything involving duct tape and roadside repairs, there’s a much more important reason behind it.
We want to raise as much money as we possibly can for cancer research.
Cancer is something that, unfortunately, touches almost every one of us. Whether it’s a family member, a friend, a work colleague, or someone we know through someone else, chances are we’ve all been affected by it in some way.
And that’s why this means so much to us.
We might not be doctors. We might not be scientists. And, judging by some of the decisions we’re likely to make during this rally, we probably shouldn’t be trusted with anything more complicated than a map and a packet of chips…
But we can help raise money.
Every donation, big or small, helps support research and the incredible work being done to find better treatments, improve survival rates, and hopefully one day make cancer something that future generations barely have to worry about.
So, we’re asking you to dig deep.
If you can donate, please do.
If you can’t donate, we completely understand — but you could still help by sharing our fundraiser, telling your friends, annoying your work colleagues, or simply pretending you’ve always been incredibly passionate about cancer research and spreading the word.
And if you’re thinking, “Surely these two idiots don’t need any encouragement to go driving around having fun…”
You’d be absolutely right.
But if we can turn our questionable life choices into something that raises money for an incredibly worthy cause, then we reckon that’s a pretty good trade.
So thank you to everyone who supports us, donates, shares our journey, or simply follows along to see whether we actually make it to the finish line.
We’re looking forward to an unforgettable adventure, plenty of laughs, meeting friends we haven’t met yet, and hopefully raising a bloody good amount of money along the way.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
Now, please donate generously.
Because every dollar gets us closer to the finish line…
…and further away from having to explain to the organisers why our car is currently being held together with cable ties.
Cheers! 🍻🚗💨
2 Man Job are driving a $1,500 car from Cairns to Darwin to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
